We’re willing to bet that once you’ve settled into your XXL camping pitch or in your Mobile Home with its creature comforts, you’ll want to stay where you are!
However, there are some fabulous things to discover in the Ardèche and some beautiful walks for families or couples. There’s nothing to stop you from taking a dip in the infinity pool or relaxing with a cocktail or snack on the terrace of the Le Chav’ bar!

Activities to do at the campsite and nearby
We have developed a number of activities that you can do from the campsite or nearby.
- The first is to enjoy the infinity pool for total relaxation!
- Several sign-posted trails leaving from the campsite and nearby (voie verte – green trails) will allow you to enjoy beautiful hikes in complete safety. You can cross our oak forests and pick mushrooms, depending on the season.
- You can play petanque, go fishing and swim in the rivers.
- For the more sporty among you, there are various activities on offer nearby: canoeing, kayaking, caving, treetop rope course, horse riding, canyoning, climbing, and more. You can play tennis or enjoy a game of bowls. In the evening, you can enjoy a film at the cinema.
- For less active visits, there is the village of Labeaume, the Alphonse Daudet Museum and the Sartre Pottery.
- Nearby, you can visit caves, standing stones, or the Grotte Chauvet 2 Ardèche.
- We also offer horse rides or mountain bike rides on sign-posted circuits and trails.

Start your trip with the village of Ruoms
Our family campsite is located in Saint Alban Auriolles, very close to the medieval village of Ruoms, which is full of curiosities.
If you want to learn all about the Ardèche’s wines, Néovinum offers you a guided tour in a traditional winery, followed by a tasting.
Finally, for a festive, enjoyable experience, you can’t beat spending the weekend at the famous Festival Aluna, which takes place in Ruoms each summer.
Next, explore Vallon Pont d’Arc at the entrance of the Ardèche Gorges Nature Reserve
South of Saint Alban Auriolles you’ll find the charming village of Vallon Pont d’Arc. You can begin by visiting the Pont d’Arc natural arch, before going to the Grotte Chauvet 2.
Your visit may also be an opportunity to experience a memorable canoe descent of the Gorges de l’Ardèche, organised by the Pont-d’Arc Water Sports centre.
Make the most of your stay by visiting tourist sites near Saint Alban Auriolles
Just a few kilometres from Camping Le Mas de Chavetourte, the characterful villages of Labeaume and Balazuc will delight all those who love history, picturesque sites and old buildings.
Sampzon is not to be missed, particularly because of the iconic Rocher de Sampzon which overlooks it and offers a panoramic view of a breath-taking landscape.
The Castanea Museum in Joyeuse, also in the vicinity, will help you learn about the history of chestnuts in the Ardèche. And if you happen to be passing through on a Wednesday, don’t forget the market.
For caving enthusiasts, the Grotte de la Madeleine in Saint-Remèze organises guided tours suitable for the whole family. You can also visit the Grotte de Saint Marcel and the Musée de la Lavande (Lavender Museum).

To treat yourself to the authentic taste of the Ardèche, our chef cooks mainly with local produce.
Guided tour with wine tasting
Staying in Saint Alban Auriolles is also a great opportunity to go on a guided tour of the authentic Néovinum winery in Ruoms.
At the end of the tour, you will be given an introduction to wine, followed by a tasting of three wines.

The markets around Saint Alban Auriolles and the summer night markets
All week long and especially in the summer, our traditional villages organise markets selling local produce: cheese, cured meat, chestnuts, sweet treats and many other regional specialities, often organic.
Ruoms market takes place every Friday morning, and there is a night market there on Wednesdays in July and August.
